Brian Redfern is a Southern California based scenic designer. Primarily designing for the stage, Brian thrives on collaboration with other artists and melding his personal aesthetic with the needs of each unique production. His diverse background also includes experience in production design for short films, interior design, scenic art, technical direction and carpentry, as well as nearly a decade of teaching experience in both the secondary and collegiate levels.

Recent work includes:
Fathers and Sons and The Importance of Being Earnest for The Old Globe/USD, An Enemy of the People for Intrepid Shakespeare Company, TOPDOG/UNDERDOG at Ion Theatre, the 2012 Playwright's Project festival of new plays, and Man from Nebraska for Cygnet Theatre Company.

Brian has assisted on numerous productions at many regional theatres including the recent world premieres of Little Miss Sunshine at the La Jolla Playhouse, Robin and the Seven Hoods at the Old Globe Theatre and the hit production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, which recently transferred to Broadway.

Brian holds a Master of Fine Arts in scenic design from San Diego State University and a Master of Theatre Studies in production and design from Southern Oregon University.
